The Cittie of Yorke in Holborn had been stripped of its ornate trappings and much of its interior fittings under new management in the 1960s.
Our job was to put them back in our own way in the language of this listed building’s late Gothick architecture with some Arts & Crafts and Art Nouveau flourishes.
The common motif of the medieval walls of York runs through our designs for all the additions we made to this London pub with its evocative name.
